The second long weekend of the summer and we didn’t want to spend it at home. Karen was lucky enough to get an invitation from her brother Rob to come to his island for the weekend. We packed up the car and started heading towards North Bay. You would think that after the July long weekend, we would have listened to the radio to see how the traffic was. But we didn’t and we ended up getting stuck on the 400 along with everybody else. We got to Barrie a couple of hours later than expected to pick up Karen’s nephew Daniel. We got to the cottage after spending a lovely 7 hours in the car. Karen’s brother Paul from Ottawa was along spending the weekend at the cottage along with this wife Jen and their two kids Gillian and Megan. They were babysitting a couple of dogs. The brought the total number of dogs at the cottage to 6. You would have never known that there were that many dogs there.
We hung out at the beach, ate (as usual), had campfires and just generally relaxed.
