The ship arrived in Miami around 6:00am today. We decided to do the self disembarkation. What that means is that you walk off the ship with your luggage. We had to be off of the ship by 9:00am so we grabbed one final breakfast at the Garden Cafe before saying goodbye to the Norwegian Pearl.
While reading through Cruise Critic, many people mentioned that to get a ride to the Fort Lauderdale airport from the Port of Miami, you should use SAS Transport. The cost was only $15/person.
We got to the Southwest counter, printed our boarding passes and checked our bags. The line for security was kind of long. I saw a guy get his two large bottles of rum confiscated. Did he not hear the security personnel explain the liquids rule over and over again?
Once we were airborne, the flight attendant mentioned that this flight had Wi-Fi. I quickly grabbed my netbook and proceeded to see how much it was. $5 … that’s it for the entire flight. It was so cool being able to surf the web from 39,000 feet. This made the flight go by very quickly. Along with watching episodes of “In Treatment”. We arrived in Baltimore, picked up a few more passengers and continued our flight to Buffalo.
What a shock to the system was when we got outside of the Buffalo Niagara International Airport. We were able to grab a taxi immediately and got dropped off to the snow covered car at the Red Roof Inn – Buffalo Niagara Airport. We had dinner at the Cracker Barrel next door before heading for home.
