Airport runs

Everyone is still getting up early even though we are all over our jet lag.  7:00am is usually the time by when everyone is awake.  We wanted to try out some snorkelling so we headed up to Kapalua Beach which is about ten minutes north of us.  We got there just after 9:00am and there were no spots left in the parking lot.  So Dave and Karen dropped the rest of us off while they went in search of parking spots on the road.  By the time they came back, we had found ourselves a nice spot on the wide crescent shaped beach.

Our spot for the day

We noticed lots of snorkellers so Cathy, Dave and Michael went out.  Michael was so cute that every time he saw a fish, we would pop back up and proceed to tell us what kind of fish he saw.  Karen went out to help Michael and I even joined them at one point.  The water was pretty calm and a great temperature.  As the morning progressed, it seemed to get rougher.  We left Dave, Cathy and the boys at the beach while we headed back to the condo to change and make our way for the first airport run of the day.

Greg (groom), Anne (bride) and Sandy and Therese (parents of the bride) arrived on Maui from Sydney, Australia at around 1:00pm.  They were exhausted but very happy to finally be in Hawaii.  We got them squared away with rental cars and directions and then proceeded to send them on their way.  Karen, Deanna and I headed over to Target so that we could pick up the $0.99/lb Butterball turkey that we will be enjoying on the American Thanksgiving.  We got back to the condo and had just enough time for a little bit of relaxation and dinner before making our return trip to the airport.

Since we had time before Liz and Algis would be arriving, everybody including Deanna went over to the Queen Ka’ahumana Center which is the big shopping mall in Kahului.  Once we finished investigating the mall, we went over to Big KMart to see what they had.  It was now time for us to go to the airport so Cathy, Dave and the boys headed back to the condo.

Liz and Algis landed around 10:00pm.  We almost missed them because we were waiting at the wrong end of the airport.  Liz just happened to walk by on her way to the bathroom.  Their bags finally appeared on the carousel and then we got them on their way to  pick up the rental car.

It has been a long day today but we are all very happy that the last of the Maloneys have arrived.
