A San Francisco treat … and no it’s not Rice-A-Roni

Today was our last day in San Francisco.  I think we were all a bit tired from yesterday so we decided to take it easy this morning and just hang out by the pool.

The last thing on the list of San Francisco activities was to ride the cable cars.  We drove into Downtown San Francisco and parked near the end of the Powell-Mason Line.  With it being Saturday, we did not have to wait too long before we were able to get onboard.  We got lucky and we were able to be right up front of the cable car.  Liam and I sat while the rest stood on the running board.  For me the best part of the ride is when you are either looking up or down a very steep hill.  There were lots of smiles and laughter.  Our ride ended at Fisherman’s Wharf.

Liam wanted to see the sea lions one last time, so we walked down to Pier 39.  After a short visit, we walked back to Fisherman’s Wharf to get some ice cream.  Unfortunately the line was too long at Ghirardelli’s so we decided that we would head back downtown.

It took us almost an hour to get onto a cable car on the Powell-Hyde Line.  This time Liam and I sat inside while the others stood on the running board again.

We walked back to Macy’s to try and get into The Cheesecake Factory for dinner.  It was about an hour wait for a Saturday night so some of us went shopping while we waited for a table.  As always, the food was great and we took our cheesecake back to the hotel.  It was a great way to end our San Francisco adventure.
