A Kenai day

After two days of driving and activities, we stayed put today at the Kenai Riverfront Resort.  While planning this trip, we tried to work it out so that we would have two days in each location so that we were not driving all of the time.  Today was a day of nothing.  Well not nothing … reading, relaxing, fishing, eating and just hanging out.

I can no say enough about the Kenai Riverfront Resort.  The location is outstanding.  You are right on the banks of the Kenai River and the resort has a few fishing platforms.  The resort has great amenties like a sauna, free hot showers and a community fire pit.  Also the staff is very helpful when it comes to fishing.  They will give you advice, get you set up on a charter or sell you a new lure or line.

At around 5:00pm, Steve and Linda packed up their RV and left for Homer.  Steve has a halibut fishing charter tomorrow at 6:00am so they needed to get on the road for the two hour.

After dinner, there was some more fishing and then we headed to the community fire pit to make smores.  We ended the night like we do normally when the boys visit Aunt Karen’s … movies.
