Some people don’t like sea days since they feel confined on the ship. I am the total opposite … I love sea days. You can do as much as you want since they have more activities than on a port day or you can do nothing. We did the latter today.
We started with a late breakfast followed by a morning of reading and napping in The Silk Den. We had lunch out by the Sea View pool which is at the back of the ship. The afternoon was spent back on Deck 12 in the comfy loungers doing more reading and napping.
We decided to try a restaurant on the ship that we had never been to before. Tamarind is a Pan-Asian restaurant located at the top of the ship with stunning panoramic views. As soon as we were seated, I knew we were in for a fabulous meal. We spent the next two hours dining on some of the best food I’ve had on a cruise ship. Appetizers …Yin-Yang Scallop Consommé, Streetside Pot Stickers, Shangai Ribs, Hosomaki, California Roll, and a Chicken Wrap. Entree … wasabi and Soy Crusted Beef Tenderloin and Sesame Udon Noodles. Dessert … Tamarind Chocolate and Ginger Banana Bread Pudding. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and next time I will make sure to try the restaurant at lunch.
We finished off our day by checking out Karaoke Superstars. They brought back some of the singers from earlier in the week to compete against each other … similar to “American Idol”. What a complete riot it was. The judges were the cruise director Dave, one of the entertainers from the showroom Rebecca and comedienne Julie Barr. The judges were as entertaining if not more than the singers. Everyone deserved to win but in the end, the winner was James with his rendition of “My Way”.
