Winding down in paradise

With our vacation beginning to wind down, we took our time getting up this morning and enjoyed breakfast out on the lanai. Afterward, most of us headed down to the beach in front of the condo. The morning was perfectly relaxed, filled with knitting, reading, and even a bit of napping.

After lunch at the condo, we went for a drive north of where we were staying. Along the way, we stopped at the Nakalele Blowhole, Honolua Bay, and D.T. Fleming Beach Park, where we were lucky enough to see turtles. Our final stop was the Honolua Store, where we enjoyed our first—and only—Dole Whip of the trip.

Once we returned to the condo, it was time to head over to the Wednesday Mai Tai Party. Once again, we enjoyed the live entertainment, along with drinks and snacks. Nana couldn’t wait any longer and, even before the performance was finished, she was off to the beach to watch the turtles come ashore.

Karen picked up dinner from The Fish Market, which we enjoyed indoors at the dining room table. Then came the unhappy task of packing. Thankfully, everyone managed to fit everything—along with all of their purchases—back into their suitcases. The most surprising part was that every suitcase came in under fifty pounds. Yippee!
