Chasing waterfalls

Since yesterday was about culture, we thought today should be about nature.  Montmorency Falls was our first destination for today.  When we arrived at the park, we were able to get one of the last few parking spots.

We started with walking over to the Panoramic Staircase which via 487 steps takes you from the base of the falls to the top.  The view from here is spectacular.  It was a busy day at the park but we did manage to get a few pictures from here.

The three of us then walked over to the Suspension Bridge.  The bridge is 83 meters (272 feet) in height and spans across the crest of the waterfall.  It is a much different perspective seeing the waterfalls from above it.  Kai was such a bon chien.

The afternoon was spent on Île d’Orléans which is located about five miles east of downtown Quebec City.  The island is made up of six villages, each offering unique attractions.  We did a complete loop of the island and made quite a few stops.  One thing that I noticed was that there were many farm stands.  Ninety-five percent of the land is used for farming, including strawberries, apples, potatoes, blueberries, maple products, cheese and wine. Île d’Orléans reminds me of Cape Cod.

On our way back to the Airbnb, we picked up supper from Le Lavallois.  We spent our last night here taking Kai for a walk in Richelieu Park and watching some episodes of Schitt’s Creek.
