Someone did not want to sleep in their crate last night. Even though it is his normal crate, we think it was because it was not what he is used to. We were able to create a very small area between the beds that allowed Kai to sleep out of the crate. Finally at 6:40am, we all decided it was time to get up. Our final destination today is Edmundston, New Brunswick but we had one very special stop to make first thing this morning. When we were planning this trip, Karen reached out to the breeder where she got Kai from to see if he wanted to see Kai. Lucky for us, he said yes. So after getting the car all packed up, we headed over.
We were warmly greeted by the breeder and he led us to their lovely backyard. He had a few minutes with Kai before Kai’s sister Holly came out. Right away, she started chasing her brother. Apparently she did this when they were growing up. One by one, the rest of Kai’s doggie family came out. There was lots of running and lots of barking. It was so nice to visit with Kai’s first family. They were happy to see that Kai is living his best life. After two hours of visiting and running and playing, it was time for the three of us to continue our journey. We said our goodbyes and promised to visit them again.

One of the lesson’s from yesterday, was to try and stop every hour for everyone to stretch their legs, switch drivers and to go to the bathroom. We stopped in Drummondville at Woodyatt Park. The park is near the city centre along the Saint-Francois River. It was a nice place for a walk. On the way back to the car, we picked up some goodies from a chocolate shop.

Four hours and a few more stops later, we arrived at the Days Inn in Edmundston, New Brunswick. We forgot about the time zone change so it was actually 8:30pm when we got to the hotel. On the way, we picked up supper from … you guessed it .. St-Hubert. What is nice about this hotel is that the car is able to be parked right in front of the room which made hauling in all of Kai’s stuff much easier. After getting everything set up, it was time to relax and rest up for tomorrow’s adventures.
