Greetings from somewhere between Bahamas and Cayman Islands! Today’s post was written by the birthday girl. Temperature today was 29C or 85F. Perfect!
The day started with breakfast in bed. I wish Maui knew how to make breakfast at home. Followed by opening birthday cards and a fabulous gift. We then did the “behind the scenes kitchen tour”, and hit the sidewalk sale at the Lido Pool. Lunch was in the Manhattan Dining Room (beef and chicken satay, chilled peach soup, chili crusted catfish, and spicy spaghetti, topped off with lime sherbet for dessert … Yum!).
We spent the afternoon outside on deck 12, which is the top deck, at the front of the ship. I don’t think many people have discovered this area yet. There are fabulous wicker loungers with comfy cushions. From our loungers we could see Cuba, as we sailed by. I didn’t know Cuba was so large. It was a perfect afternoon of doing absolutely nothing. Reading and relaxing.
We returned to the cabin to find a surprise from Helayne. (Thanks for the delicious chocolate covered strawberries!). After more relaxing on our balcony, we headed to the Pinnacle Grill for dinner, which was superb. Caesar salad made table side, filet mignon with garlic herb butter, mashed or ginormous baked potato (with all the fixings), raspberry cheesecake and chocolate volcano cake.
After that we waddled to the Casino to try our luck on Haywire Jackpots, but we couldn’t repeat Dorothy’s winning streak from yesterday. Next we were off to the Greenhouse Spa & Salon. We spent the next hour enjoying the spa sampler: spa mini facial, eye booster treatment, paraffin hand spa, scalp massage, hair conditioning treatment, foot massage, neck & shoulder massage, and hand massage. I now feel years younger than when I woke up this morning!
THANKS to everyone for all the nice birthday wishes!
Tomorrow is a day for three S’s: sun, swimming and shopping on Grand Cayman!
