Today when I woke up there was blue sky. Yippee … No rain.
We packed up the car and got started on our six hour trip to Langley, BC. The drive was uneventful and it seemed to go by quickly. The scenery was stunning. Huge mountains (some of them snow-covered) and beautiful lakes along the way. We passed through Kamloops, Merritt, Hope and rolled into Langley (a suburb of Vancouver) around 3:00pm and immediately went to the Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Langley-Surrey ($122.55 CAD) to drop off our bags. We then drove over to Darren and Allison’s house.
When Karen and I were planning the trip, I asked Allison if we should tell Darren that we were coming. She said that we should keep it a surprise. We got to the house and Allison let us in quietly. We went upstairs and very quietly I peeked my head around the corner and gave Darren the surprise of his life. Gotcha … This is the fourth time that we have surprised him.
We spent the rest of the evening visiting and getting acquainted with Shayla and Sienna, their twin “almost” one year old daughters. We had delicious take-out Chinese food, and my fortune cookie said … “old acquaintances are important this week”, which was very appropriate. Everyone was getting tired so decided to head home. Looking forward to spending the week with our friends.
