Karen arranged a couple of great surprises for my birthday … a seaplane ride and a seal boat tour. Thanks Karen!! The seaplane ride was with Tartan Air. Our pilot was Mark and he was really laidback. It was really cool to see the island from the air. We saw potatoe farms, lighthouses and people fishing for lobster and mussels.
After we landed back at the marina, it was off to sail with Captain Tom of Marine Adventures Seal Tours. He took us out on a 2 hour tour that was alot of fun. We even got to drive the boat. He did find a small little island where the seals were. They are so cute.
Once we got back to the dock, we grabbed a quick bite to eat and drove around to find some lighthouses. Prince Edward Island has quite a few of them.
I’ve never had lobster before but I thought I would give it a try on my birthday. We ended up going to Fisherman’s Wharf Lobster Suppers for their famous lobster dinners. We asked the waitress for some pointers on eating the lobster and she was very helpful. It was alot of work but it was very good.
After dinner, we drove over to the Brackley Beach Drive-In Theatre and Mini Golf to see if they would be showing the movie tonight. We were very happy to find out that they would be. You see when we were on the seal boat tour, we asked everybody to go to the drive-in since we needed at least 10 cars at the drive-in. The movie was “Mr & Mrs Smith” with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. We found the movie very slow, silly and unbelievable.
