Today is my last day here.  My flight was at 5:15pm so we decided just to hang around the house and relax.  We headed to the airport and had lunch.  Unfortunately it was then time for me to go and we said our goodbyes, promising to get back there as soon as possible.

Since I printed my boarding pass last night, I was in the “A” group.  The flight to Buffalo was quick and we landed at 12:30am.  Since I didn’t have to pick up any bags, I headed outside to grab the shuttle bus back to the Best Western Norstar Inn to pick up my car.  I got to the Peace Bridge and there was only 1 booth open and no line ups.  I got home around 3:30am.

A big thank you to Darren & Allison.

If yesterday was a day of lounging around, today is a day for shopping.  Once we got up, Allison and I hit Best Buy and Fashion Show mall.  All I can say is that there was alot of damage done at the mall by both of us.

We got back to the house and enjoyed a swim in the pool and an awesome BBQ dinner.  We then decided to go to the Cannery Casino and try our luck on the slot machines.  Unfortunately lady luck was not on my side.

When Darren got home from work, we decided to go to the Las Vegas 6 Drive-In to see “Superman Returns”.  All I can say is that it’s really cool to see a drive-in in a convertible with the stars twinkling and the lights of the Las Vegas strip.

Weddings always make me cry

Today is a day for lounging around.  We got up and then Allison and I spent a couple of hours just lounging around the pool.  Since Darren had 4 weddings today, I decided to join him.  The weddings very interesting and each one was unique.  One couple wanted to know if Darren had any Led Zepplin he could sing.  You just never know what’s going to happen at Las Vegas Garden of Love.

We met Allison at Tony Romas and then Darren and I headed to the Stratosphere Hotel & Casino.  Darren was kind enough to get me into the show, “American Superstars”.  Each time I see him on that stage, it still gives me a thrill.  After the show, Allison picked me up and we tried to go to the Fashion Show mall but it was closed.

Darren got home and then he and I went out on a late night scooter ride.  After a rough start, we got going and boy did I have fun.  I felt like I was in a motorcycle gang.

I got up somewhat early (7:30am, my body hasn’t adjusted to the time change yet) and we spent a very productive morning and afternoon working on Allison’s new website (www.sensationaljewelryandgifts.com).  Our work session was briefly interrupted with a visit to Best Buy to pick up some supplies.

Since Darren had a few weddings at Las Vegas Garden of Love, we met him at Western Sizzlin for dinner.  Darren went to work and Allison and I headed back to the house to do some more work on the website.

Let’s go to the lake

5am … that sure comes early but it’s easy to get up when you’re on vacation.  The hotel had a free continental breakfast which after I got dropped off at the Buffalo Airport around 6:30am.

Since I was travelling with just my carry-on luggage, check-in was a breeze and I had about 1-1/2 hours before my flight.  SouthWest Airlines does this thing where they don’t assign seats.  Your boarding pass has either an A, B or C and they board the plane in according to those letters.  Once you get on the plane, you pick your own seat.  The flight to Baltimore was quick and I was able to have an entire row to myself.

Once landing at the Baltimore Aiport, I was able to grab a quick bite to eat and then got in the “B” line.  Unfortunately, the flight to Las Vegas was full so I wasn’t able to stretch out.

I landed in Las Vegas at 1pm local time and Darren & Allison picked me up at the airport.  We headed over to Lake Mead National Recreational Area where we spent a relaxing couple of hours floating in the lake.  We even saw some wildlife - blue heron and wild donkeys.

We got back home and then ended up having dinner at Ruby Tuesday.  I finally got to bed at midnight local time which made it 3am back home.  No wonder I was so tired.
