Our last day in Las Vegas.  We decided to head over to the Fashion Show Mall to check out the Apple Store and Dillards.  We got back to the house and enjoyed one final swim in the pool.  Darren had a 5pm wedding at Las Vegas Garden of Love, so we decided that we wanted to see one more.  This time we witnessed the marriage of Katerina and Tony.  We didn’t have much time, so we went to In-N-Out Burger for dinner.  This place makes the best fries I’ve ever had.  They only have 4 things on the menu - hamburger, cheeseburger, double burger, fries.  Allison, Karen and I decided to go and check out the new casino that opened, Wynn’s.  Steven Wynn has got alot of money.  We walked through and checked out the front entrance.  It has the beautiful balls of flowers.  We tried to win some money there, but no luck.

We got back to the house and packed up our suitcases in the car.  Our flight wasn’t until 12:55am.  Darren came home from work and we just hung out in the backyard having smoothies.  11pm came around and it was time for us to go.  We said our goodbyes and promised to come back really soon.

We got to the airport and asked if there were any seats in first class.  They told us that it would be $150/person.  I guess I won’t be stretching out and sleeping.  The plane was completely full and it seemed to me that the seats were much smaller.  We were able to catch a few winks on the flight.  We landed in Detroit (DTW) around 7:45am and our flight home was scheduled for 10:15am.  On the flight home, I was able to see the dump near my house, Sobey’s on Fisher-Hallman and the SunLife building.  We landed at 11:35am and cleared customs in a matter of 15 minutes.  This was due to the fact that there were only 10 people on the flight.  Nana picked us up and we were home.

We got up and once again did the usual … lounge around the pool and unpack boxes.  Besides unpacking more boxes, we actually got Allison’s office all setup.  Now we felt like we accomplished something.  Karen and I headed over to the MGM Grand to pick up our tickets for Tom Jones.  Mind you, it took us almost 2 hours from the time we left the house to get to the MGM.  Traffic is very bad in Las Vegas.  We then met up with Darren and Allison at Macayo’s Mexican Kitchen.  The food here was awesome.  After dinner, Karen and I headed over to Fry’s Electronics to see if there was anything that I needed for my Ipod.  We then made our way over to the MGM Grand and proceeded to do our first bit of serious gambling.  I ended up winning $50 on a slot machine.

We got into the Hollywood Theatre.  We hoped that Darren wasn’t going to miss too much of the show since he usually gets out of work around 8:30pm, and had to drive from one end of the Strip to the other.  He must have drove really fast because he walked in just as Tom started singing the first song.  Tom is 65 and he still puts on an awesome show.  He sang all the hits … “It’s Not Unusual”, “Delilah”, “She’s A Lady”, “Kiss”, “If I Only Knew”, etc.  After the concert, we made our way back to the house were we watched 2 episodes of “Las Vegas Garden Of Love”.

We got up and did the usual … lounge around the pool and unpack boxes.  Karen and I then headed out to do normal shopping that you do when you go to the United States … Kmart, Bath & Body Works, Wal-Mart, etc.  We also checked out some new stores that we had seen on TV … Tuesday Morning and Big Lots!.  We met up with Darren and Allison at Olive Garden and had another great dinner.  Allison, Karen and I headed back to the house and unpacked more boxes.

Darren came home from work and we all somehow got Allison’s very large desk into the office.  We all then headed to the show to see the “The Interpreter” (Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn).  What a total bore.
