The Piotrowski family visits some donkeys

Nana was talking to a friend of hers who told her about this place where you could go and visit with donkeys.  Nana thought that she would like to do this.  I thought she was nuts but Karen decided to do some research on the internet and she happened to find the place.  It’s called The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada and it’s in Guelph.  We packed up the entire family including Cody and Madison and headed out to see the donkeys.

There are about 44 donkeys that are living at the sanctuary now.  They are so cute, like big dogs.  Karen brought some carrots and apples which the donkeys loved.  One donkey (Danny) bit Papa on the foot.

Today is our last day here.  We did the usual in the morning - lounge around the pool.  We got our suitcases packed up and said our goodbyes to Darla (Darren & Allison’s cute little dog).  We made a final stop at KMart to see if there was any Martha Stewart stuff on sale.  We went by the Stratosphere Hotel & Casino to pick up tickets for Darren’s show.

Afterwards, we headed over to Las Vegas Garden of Love to see our last wedding.  Since the couple was late, we didn’t have time to have a proper dinner so instead we went to McDonald’s.  We said our goodbyes to Allison and then headed with Darren to work.

This was the best show ever.  After the show, we hung out with Darren in the lounge before we had to leave.  We said goodbye and then headed to the airport for our 10:45pm flight.

While checking in, we asked how much it costs to upgrade to business class.  They said $45 each and we said ok.  The seats in business class allowed us to get some sleep since they are much roomier than in coach.  Our plane landed in Detroit at 5:15am and we got home at 10am.

We got on the road by 1pm and got back to Las Vegas at 5:45pm.  While packing up the car before we left, there was an incident.  I won’t get into any details but those of us who were there know what I am talking about.  Enough said.

Darren went to work and Allison, Karen and I had dinner at Krung Thai.  I’ve never had Thai food but this was awesome.  We dropped Allison at home and then headed down to the Strip to get some pictures and check out Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville.

When we got back, we had a fire using Darren & Allison’s new fire bowl in the backyard.  We roasted hotdogs and marshmellows.  It was a great way to spend our last night here.

This was my first time at Disneyland.  We got up late, had brunch and got to the park around 3pm.  We were lucky because they don’t close until midnight.  Lots of time for fun stuff.  There are actually two parks there - California Adventure and Disneyland.  We got tickets that allowed us to go to both parks.

We started at California Adventure.  We did a bunch of shopping and rode Jim Henson’s Muppet Vision 3D, Golden Zephyr, Orange Stinger and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.  The Tower of Terror was the best ride of the day and all that I will say is that you don’t want to sit beside somebody who screams during the entire ride.  You know who you are.

We then went over to Disneyland and we got to see the Disneyland Parade of the Stars and the fireworks display.  We rode Mad Tea Party, Alice In Wonderland, Pirates of the Caribbean and the Indiana Jones Adventure.  The last ride was the second best of the day.

Another day in paradise.  We get up and lounge around the pool again.  We headed over to Las Vegas Garden of Love for a 1pm wedding that Darren had.  After some electronics shopping at Fry’s Electronics, we got back to the house where Allison once again made us a fabulous BBQ dinner (hamburgers and home-made french fries).  We met up with Darren at the chapel for a 10pm wedding.  After the wedding, we all got in the car and started our trip to Anaheim, California.  We are going to Disneyland.  We got to our hotel around 5am.
